About

About Us.

Built by organizers who got tired of matching payment screenshots to spreadsheet rows.

Why this exists

Event Shepherd exists because of a Google Form, a spreadsheet, and a folder full of payment screenshots.

You know the workflow. Registrations come in through a form. People pay by GCash or bank transfer and upload a screenshot as proof. Then someone on the team sits down after work and matches every screenshot to a name, row by row.

Some people send more than they owe, and now you are hunting down who the extra amount belongs to. Some send less, and you are drafting a polite message asking about the difference. Others skip the form entirely and hand cash to whoever happens to be standing at the door, which someone has to remember, record, and reconcile later.

It works, barely, at thirty guests. At three hundred it eats an entire weekend, and the person doing the matching is usually the same person running the show.

What we do about it

Event Shepherd replaces that workflow end to end. Registration happens on a free event website, so there is no form to build. Every registration gets a QR ticket by email, so there is no list to cross-check at the door. Payments are tied to the exact registration they belong to, so there are no screenshots to match, no mystery overpayments, and no awkward follow-ups. Walk-ins get added at the door in seconds and show up on every scanner immediately.

The person who used to spend the weekend matching screenshots gets to watch the event instead.

Who we are

Event Shepherd is built by Group Hug Software, a small team that builds software for people doing real work with too few hands. We run events too, which is why the door, the line, and the reconciliation spreadsheet are the problems we cared about first.
