Frequently asked questions.
What organizers ask before their first event, answered plainly.
What does it cost to run an event?
Pricing is set out on the pricing section of the home page. Free events cost nothing to run, and there is no monthly fee or setup cost to start.
Do I need special hardware to scan tickets?
No. The scanner runs in a web browser on any phone with a camera. There is no app to install and nothing to rent. If you already own a barcode gun, the scanner has a hardware mode that accepts it.
How many people can scan at the same time?
As many as you like. Each device picks its own terminal and schedule, and they do not conflict. A guest already checked in on one device is reported as already checked in on the others.
What happens if the venue has no signal?
The scanner keeps working. It holds a copy of the guest list for the session, accepts scans offline, and syncs them when the connection returns. See scanning offline for what it can and cannot do while disconnected.
Can I limit how many tickets are sold?
Yes, per ticket tier. Set a stock value on the tier and registration for it closes once the count is reached, while your other tiers keep selling. Leave it empty for unlimited.
Can I run an event with several days or sessions?
Yes. Each session is a schedule, and check-in happens per schedule. A ticket tier decides which schedules it admits its holder to, so a Day 2 Only tier is simply bound to the day two schedule.
Can one person register several people?
Yes. A registration has one billing contact and any number of attendees, each with their own name, email and QR code.
What if someone turns up without their ticket?
Check them in by name from the door desk. The result is identical to a scan. Nobody is refused entry for a flat battery.
Can I take payment at the door?
Yes. Add the guest yourself from the guest list, recording the payment details on the form. They get a QR ticket like everyone else. The same applies to bank transfers and sponsor allocations.
Do attendees need an account?
No. They register on your public event page, receive a ticket by email, and show it at the door. They never log in and they cannot edit their own registration.
Can I ask my own questions at registration?
Yes, using a fieldset attached to a ticket tier. Nine question types are available, and answers land on the guest record and in your exports.
Can I import a guest list I already have?
Yes, from a CSV. Download the sample for your ticket tier, fill it in, and you see a preview of every row before anything is created. See importing guests.
Will importing guests email them?
No. Imports are quiet on purpose, so you can stage a list before an announcement. Send tickets afterwards with Broadcast Tickets.
Can I get my data out?
Yes. Guest sheets, QR code archives and per-schedule attendance CSVs are all downloadable. See exports.
Who can see my guest list?
Anyone in the team that owns the event. Roles decide what they can change, not what they can see. When you need a harder boundary, use a separate team. See teams and roles.
Can I reuse an event I have already run?
Duplicate it. The copy carries your ticket tiers, terminals, schedules and event page design, and deliberately leaves the guest list behind.
Can I delete an event?
Only if it has never had a guest on it, and only as a team administrator. Once a real person has registered, the event holds a record of a real transaction and cannot be erased.
Is there a free public page for my event?
Yes, at /event/your-event-name, included with every event. See the event website.
